Salunda World-first safety measure installed on four offshore Guyana drilling platforms, utilizing Intellilift’s established digital technologies to automate the tracking and management of essential equipment and personnel. This partnership, involving assets from a prominent offshore drilling contractor, represents the first-ever deployment of a real-time digital interface that connects wearable sensors, drilling controls, and moving machinery. This innovative system provides immediate alerts to workers in potentially hazardous areas, streaming accurate information about machine location, speed, and operational status in real-time. By merging Intellilift’s platform with Salunda’s CrewHawk, the system offers a low-latency digital interface through Salunda’s proprietary Motion Trigger and Equipment Status (MTES) module. CrewHawk is designed to monitor dangerous work environments, tracking both personnel and equipment, while Intellilift’s platform connects to the drilling automation suite, detailing the position and status of all active machinery. Alan Finlay, CEO of Salunda, stated, “This represents a major advancement in offshore safety technology, and we are excited to collaborate with Intellilift to enhance the safety of crews operating in Red Zones.” He added, “The digital integration signifies a transformative leap in safety for the industry. By accurately tracking the locations of workers and equipment, and logging their movements, this groundbreaking solution ensures that personnel in critical safety zones can operate with a heightened sense of security during their daily tasks.” Salunda’s Hawk Analytics platform allows users to analyze data, identify trends, and create heatmaps that highlight areas with frequent violations and the machinery involved. These reports can then be utilized to train crews and modify working practices to bolster safety.
